Gemotions

The salt air filled Sarah's lungs as she walked along the beach. The sand felt cool and soft under her bare feet. Seagulls cried overhead, their calls a familiar soundtrack to her daily walk. The waves whispered against the shore, a soothing rhythm that calmed her nerves. She had brought a book, but decided against opening it. The weight of the world seemed to have lessened.

She returned to her small beachside cottage and sat on the deck. A friend had texted her a link. Hesitantly, she clicked, already slightly worried. There, a website was dedicated to her, chronicling her life. The prose was overly florid, she thought, and some of the details weren't quite right.

A small smile touched her lips. She recognized her own story, but embellished and romanticized. She felt a flicker of annoyance, quickly replaced by a sense of detachment. She watched the setting sun paint the sky with vibrant hues, feeling no urge to address the situation. She had other, more enjoyable, things to do.
